Welcome to my website. I’m so glad you are here. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor, which means I help you find ways out of suffering or confusion and into wellness. I draw on scientifically proven methods from psychology, neuroscience, and integrative medicine to foster physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. I guide individuals towards self-actualization by making step-by-step changes to their beliefs, thoughts, and self-care behaviors, at a pace that is comfortable and sustainable.
The human person is an integrated system, so as you start to integrate changes in one area of your life, you will naturally start to move forward in others, creating an upward spiral. Over time, we address the totality of practices and mental habits you need for enduring happiness. My style of working with people is very down to earth, holistic and gentle. In our sessions, I use empathy, compassion and insight in addition to my education and training to guide your healing. I have a very warm and uplifting spirit that I use to encourage you through your journey of life. I create an environment where you are free and can find the truth that is within you. I begin where you are and feel most comfortable.

Holistic Psychotherapy is an approach which helps you heal by taking your entire being and your life experience into consideration for assessment and treatment purposes. The goal is facilitating a sense of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Integrating the holistic approach in counseling allows me to see you in your totality and take a more integrative approach to healing the mind. Ultimately, I seek to heal by helping you break free from destructive thoughts and enjoy a new and improved state of mental, spiritual and physical health. Some of the practices Holistic Psychotherapy incorporates are mindfulness, visualization and guided meditation.
I work with adults of all ages and children as young as 5 years old.

Megan Williams, MS, LPSCI am a Mount Mary intern working to earn my post master's certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mount Mary University. I studied Behavioral Science/Psychology in undergraduate school, and I currently hold a Master's degree in Counseling with a focus on School Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional School Counselor, and I currently work full-time as a school counselor in a local public high school. As a life-long learner with a passion for mental health, it was important to me to take this next step in my education to deepen my understanding of the connection between the mind, body, spirit, and mental health.
I am a firm believer in the power of the "stories" that we tell about ourselves and our experiences. My approach to therapy is centered around discovery. During our sessions, we will explore the details of your current story, i.e., the past and present experiences that have played a role in you becoming who you are today. We will work together on exercises designed to help you process the feelings, thoughts, actions, values, and beliefs that are a part of your current story. Throughout this process, we will examine your goals, strengths, and resources, working to assess areas that you believe to be sufficient and areas that require some maintenance to help you feel whole. Ultimately, I believe that the goal of therapy is the development of a renewed sense of identity and purpose. My goal is to help clients author a story that speaks to their own innate but perhaps undiscovered strengths. |
