What is Holistic Care?
The Holistic understanding of mental health is intimately connected to its understanding of the mind in general. We don't separate the mind and body in the usual way; but instead, we generally assume that body and mind are dynamically interconnected and that both directly influence each other.
When appropriate, we will provide basic information on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and social and environmental determinants to health and disease. We also counsel each individual to help them deal with the emotional and mental state they are experiencing.
The goal is facilitating a sense of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Integrating the holistic approach in counseling allows us to see you in your totality and take a more integrative approach to healing the mind.
Some of the practices Holistic Psychotherapy incorporates are mindfulness, visualization and guided meditation.
